I am currently on Effexor, 75mg/day, but the depression is worse and I can't get stable. I started Effexor about 5 months ago when I quit using Serzone (my doc was worried about liver damange from that drug). I am concerned about going to 150 mg/day because of all the horrible posts about Effexor, but my research indicates that there are two sister drugs that work like Effexor available in Europe: Duloxetine (Cymbalta) and Milnacipran (Ixel). All three are classified as SNRIs for seratonin/noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors. Does anyone have experience with Cymbalta or Ixel vs. Effexor?
