Hi I need some advice.
The Guy my older sister loves will just be coming back from his University….by the time she is only just LEAVING college to start her University. How can they stay together? Do long-distance relationships work? If so….can they work for FOUR YEARS (or more!!!!!) What is involved in a long-distance relationship? How do the two people keep the relationship going? PLEASE can anyone out there offer me any advice via email??PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!can you offer me any advice as my sister seems very upset and I don't know how to help her. :(

Hi Clemence,
That's a tough one. You can email, text message and phone to keep in touch, but doing things together is going to be hard. How far of a distance is it? Is it driveable if you both can meet somewhere half way on weekends? A friend of mine's relationship survived that way. He'd drive five hours one way and so would she and they'd meet in the middle. They didn't get to spend a lot of time together, but they had Saturday nights for dinner, movies, etc. Quality, not quantity time. I haven't talked to him in awhile, but last I did they were still married.

I'm still with my boyfriend and we spent 3 years apart, him at MIT in America, and me in Bristol.
We then lived together for one year, and now I'm in Finland, and he's back in the UK.
So I think they can work out.
I also dated a guy whilst I was at uni in Scotland and he lived in York.
It can work!
You just both need to be serious about each other.
